A key part of maintaining a winning team is a learning & development programme
that meets individual, team and corporate needs. A range of courses is available
at the West Brom, designed to meet the changing needs of the business.
The Society offers a comprehensive induction programme, which will give you an insight
into Building Societies, with a key focus on the Society's Vision, Mission and Values.
You will have a clear understanding of the Society's history, diversity and culture
and the support offered for personal development through objective setting and appraisals.
You will learn about the key industry regulations that we all need to understand
and be aware of working in the Financial Services Industry. And further courses
to support you in your role will ensure you can demonstrate the skills to competently
use the IT systems used in the Society and a systematic approach to planning and
letter writing.
Customer service training is key to developing the superior one-to-one customer
service skills essential for success in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
environment. Employees working in a sales focused environment will receive specific
training days that will concentrate on product knowledge, sales and targets.
Specialised training and support will be given to employees whose role will involve
giving advice, i.e. Branch Managers, Branch Consultants and Personal Mortgage Managers.
A dedicated learning and development team will support you through identifying training
needs and providing one-to-one coaching in development areas.
The Society is supportive of professional and vocational qualifications that will
support you in your role. To help you progress in your career, we offer a suite
of management development training courses, including Effective Presentation Skills,
Managing Performance, Interviewing Skills, Time Management and Personal Effectiveness.
These are in addition to our flagship development programme for supporting our future
talent, from junior positions right through to director level.
