Benefits

Staff Benefits

At the West Brom, we always say our staff are our best asset – and we mean it! The success of the business, and our future progress, is based upon the rich array of skilled and talented people we have within the Society.

The contribution of everyone matters to us and we believe strongly in ensuring people feel genuinely valued for the work and commitment they make to the Society. This is therefore shown in the spread of benefits that staff can enjoy with the West Brom. Here are just some:

Holiday entitlements

  • 2.08 days per completed month up to 2 years’ service (maximum 25 days)
  • 2.17 days per completed month from 2 to 5 years’ service (maximum 26 days)
  • 2.25 days per completed month from 5 to 10 years’ service (maximum 27 days)
  • 2.58 days per completed month after 10 years’ service (maximum 31 days)

Stakeholder Pension Scheme

Employees are eligible to join the Stakeholder Pension Plan, on the first of the month after joining the Society. After 6 months, the Society contributes a percentage of employee Gross Monetary Earnings in to the scheme based on the level of employees contributions.

Life Assurance

Ensuring the financial needs of our loved ones are taken care of after our death is a key priority in financial planning. This also forms a central part of our pension provision for staff at the West Brom. All employees are entitled to Life Assurance. The Society provides life cover at 4 times basic salary to people who join the pension scheme within 6 months of joining the Society, and life assurance at 3 times their salary for those staff who have not joined the pension scheme.

Private Medical Insurance

The Society's Private Health Insurance is subsidised at 50% after the completion of 2 years continuous service and is 100% subsidised after 5 years continuous service, subject to the scheme rules.

Staff Saver

This account is available exclusively to staff offering a great interest rate of variable + 1.75% Staff Bonus per annum and an additional bonus of 0.25 % per annum if you make regular contributions and miss no more than 2 payments per annum.

Childcare Vouchers

In conjunction with Computershare, the Society offers childcare vouchers to parents, offering a tax and National Insurance contribution saving to the employee. These can be used at one of Computershare's countrywide purpose built day nurseries, or as payment for other registered childminders, nannies, nurseries etc.

The West Brom Social Club

The West Brom Social Club is an active and popular part of the Society, organising social events and activities at attractively discounted rates. This can include theatre trips, concert tickets, sporting events, and a busy calendar of other attractions.

Employee Support Helpline

The welfare and wellbeing of staff is a priority for us. With this in mind, the Society has a 24 hour Employee Support Helpline, which provides advice, information and counselling services for employees and their families. The Helpline is completely free and confidential at all times.

Discounted Travel Cards

West Midlands Travel and Centro cards, covering Bus, Metro and Rail travel in a wide range of geographical areas are available to employees at a discounted rate. In addition, the Society offers interest free loans to pay for the card over 6, 10 or 12 monthly instalments directly through the Payroll.

Eye Care Benefits Scheme

The Society covers the cost of employee eye tests and is registered in a Corporate Eyecare Scheme, which offers comprehensive savings on eye examinations, spectacles and contact lenses to all employees and their families.

Alternative Therapies

Alternative Therapies including remedial massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and Indian head massage are available at a reduced rate to all Society staff.

Enhanced Maternity Pay

We are keen to encourage women to remain with the West Brom following maternity leave. Maternity pay is paid at an enhanced rate to women who return to work with the Society for at least 6 months.
