Message from our CEO

This is a very exciting time for us at SSI UK as we implement our plans to resume steelmaking here at Teesside. There is a proud heritage of steelmaking in the area which was continuous for 160 years up to the plant being mothballed in February 2010 . Following the purchase of the business by SSI we now have a fantastic opportunity to play our part in its revival and the creation of its future. This new chapter in the plant’s history, and the chance to bring steel production back on stream, contrasts with a trend over many years which has seen the demise of manufacturing in the UK.

I welcome this opportunity to contribute to the recruitment programme by making a few comments which may interest any would be applicants for positions within the SSI family.
