"I joined the Area Operation Manager Trainee programme in May 2007, after several years experience managing bars in Dorset, the programme is the same for internal applicants as for external. The application involves an interview and assessment centre and the training is four 3 month placements in different head office departments. This is so that you can gain experience in all departments in order to understand processes and who does what.
The transition has been a good one as my pub experience has been put to good use at head office, people know my achievements and background."
